Welcome back to Fall 2021 at Quantum

Hello parents and students,

Welcome back! Hope everyone had a restful and meaningful summer with lots of outdoor fun and intellectual explorations in various camps!

Now that the fall semester is underway, we would like to remind you of the COVID-19 safety protocols that will be in place as students return to class. The following list of protocols is how we'll be keeping your families safe this term:

Contactless temperature checks will be taken every day upon arrival.
It is currently mandatory for all students 12+ to wear a mask indoors at all times (unless eating or drinking).
We strongly recommend that students aged 11 and under wear a mask, but it is not mandatory.
Sanitize or wash hands upon entry.
Class sizes are limited.
High touch zone sanitizing throughout the day.
Proof of COVID-19 vaccination is required for all students aged 12 and older for all in-person classes.

To ensure that we provide a safe environment for all of our students, teachers and staff, medical grade air purifiers have also been placed inside the classroom as an extra safety precaution. If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact us. We are committed to ensuring a safe and healthy return to school.

Another exciting news is that unit 6650 on the Richmond campus will be painted during the upcoming week! There are a few in-person classes that might be affected and rescheduled. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation. We are all very excited about the refreshed and touch-up look for the classrooms, and I'm sure you will love our new colour!

Creating Your Own Spotlight

This year, we are launching various workshops for our students. These workshops not only provide students a chance to interact with experts from a specific field, but also enable students to build on their technical skills and boost their confidence level.

Ms. Janey's Language Arts
Preparatory Program

Ms. Janey's Language Arts Program is coming back! The 3-week Language Arts Summer Camp has been super successful, and our students enjoyed it quite a lot. Students started their day with mindfulness practice, circle-time story reading, and in-depth discussion. Throughout the three weeks, there were a focus project and a final presentation at the end of each week. Ms. Janey helped students develop their public speaking skills and build up their confidence by providing a platform for them to express their ideas and thoughts.
This fall, we are launching the Language Arts Preparatory Program, which is a 2-hour session, three times a week preparatory program targeting preschoolers with the goals to inspire learners to exercise, sing, and build confidence while having fun with different components of English language arts.

Thinking About Taking AP?

What is AP?
Advanced Placement (AP) courses are intro-level college courses that are offered to students in high school.

Why Take AP Exams?
Upon successful completion of these courses, students can:
(1) Earn college credit and skip introductory courses in college
(2) Boost your GPA
(3) Discover your passion
(4) Adapt and get accustomed to what a college-level course workload would be
(5) Build strong study habits to carry forward to college/university
(6) Stand out to colleges and show your academic rigor during applications

Updates on 2022 AP Exams
Unlike 2021 AP Exams, the 2022 AP Exams will be administered in schools as paper-and-pencil exams over two weeks in May: May 2-6 and May 9-13. AP Chinese and AP Japanese Exams are administered in school on computers.
